Lake Lure Beach: Season, Fees, and Why Late Summer Is Different

The beach at Lake Lure reopened for the 2026 season after a long post-Helene closure, and its schedule narrowed as summer went on. If you're planning a beach day, the calendar matters as much as the weather.
How the 2026 Season Ran
The Town reported the lake as Officially reopened May 15, 2026. On the beach itself, the schedule was daily through August 11, 2026 — then weekends only through Labor Day. The season ended on Labor Day — September 7, 2026, and it is closed now.
The late-summer shift is the part visitors miss. A beach day in August can be a Tuesday; a beach day in early September is a weekend.
What It Costs
Per the Town's July 2026 news summary, which we last checked in early August:
- Adults: $12
- Children: $8 — ages 4–12, must be 45 in or taller
- Seniors: $9
- Hours: 10 AM–6 PM
- Aqua park, ages 7 and up: $10 per 50-minute session
- Aqua park, ages 4 to 6: $5 per 50-minute session
Rates can change from one season to the next, so confirm with the Town before you go.
Planning for 2027
Expect the beach back around Memorial Day weekend 2027, based on previous years. The Town hasn't announced dates, so that's an expectation, not a schedule. Watch for the announcement in spring rather than planning a Memorial Day trip around it.
If You Want to Be on the Water Instead
The beach isn't the only way onto the lake. Pontoons, kayaks, and paddleboards are available from several operators, and our boat rentals page compares them. For fine print worth asking about before you book, see our pontoon rental tip.
