None of these are inside Lake Lure or Chimney Rock itself, but two clusters make the drive worthwhile. The Hendersonville-area group sits along the same Chimney Rock Road corridor as our apple orchards. A second cluster, around Tryon, Mill Spring, and Columbus, sits inside the Tryon Foothills AVA — a federally recognized wine region granted its own designation in November 2025 — and pairs naturally with a trip to Tryon International Equestrian Center, which sits in the same small area.
One well-known name is missing from the Hendersonville group: Burntshirt Vineyards' own tasting room on Main Street in Chimney Rock has been closed since Hurricane Helene, so we're pointing to their main Hendersonville location instead, which is open and where the wine is actually made.

About the Chimney Rock Location
If you remember Burntshirt's tasting room and bistro at 438 Main Street in Chimney Rock, it hasn't reopened. Burntshirt's own site states it plainly: the location "will remain closed for the season" following Hurricane Helene's impact on the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock communities, with no reopening date given as of our last check. The winery itself is unaffected — it's still producing and pouring at its Hendersonville property, 2695 Sugarloaf Road, which is the tasting room we list above.
